Madis Coffee’s Kenya Murang’a Kaganda – Light Roast
Bold, structured, and full of complexity—Madis Coffee’s Kenya Murang’a Kaganda highlights the bright acidity and layered flavors that make Kenyan coffees world-renowned. Grown in the highlands of Murang’a County, this washed lot brings both clarity and depth to your cup.

Rooted in Rich Terrain:
Cultivated between 1,750–1,850 masl in red volcanic soil, this coffee grows slowly in the cool, elevated climate of central Kenya. Kaganda Factory sources cherries from local farmers who rely on coffee as a vital part of daily life and the regional economy. The varieties—SL 28, SL 34, and Ruiru 11—are bred for quality, yield, and drought resistance, and they thrive in these conditions.

Flavor Profile:
Expect a vibrant cup layered with notes of dark chocolate, caramel, papaya, green apple, and black tea. Its juicy acidity and balanced sweetness create a bright, clean cup with a crisp finish.

Washed Process, Kenyan Precision:
The washed process enhances the natural clarity and structure of this coffee, allowing the nuanced flavors to shine with precision and vibrancy.

Cultivar Meets Craft:
SL 28 and SL 34, developed in the 1930s by Scott Agricultural Laboratories, are foundational to Kenya’s coffee identity. Combined with the newer Ruiru 11 variety, this lot reflects generations of innovation and excellence in Kenyan coffee production.

Experience Murang’a:
Madis Coffee’s Kenya Murang’a Kaganda is a striking expression of place and process—crafted for those who seek brightness, clarity, and complexity in every sip. A single origin that celebrates Kenya’s agricultural legacy, thoughtfully roasted to honor its origin.

Note for Subscribers:
Our single origin offerings rotate throughout the year to reflect the freshest harvests available. If you’re subscribed to this coffee and we change the country of origin or farm due to seasonal growing conditions, your subscription will automatically update to the current selection. This may or may not come with a price change—if there is a change, it will never be more than $2. In the rare case that a new offering exceeds this amount, we will notify you before continuing.

This process ensures you’re always receiving coffee at its peak quality—fresh, vibrant, and in line with our sourcing standards.
