Roasting Process

Cloud Blend is roasted in small batches at our Philadelphia roastery. Every step is deliberate because getting to purposefully dark without bitter or burnt takes precision.

Bean Selection

We source beans specifically chosen to hold up to a dark roast without losing their character. The result is depth with a story behind it.

Roasting Stages

Each batch is developed through careful heat profiling, drying, Maillard development, and a precise first crack. We stop exactly where the flavor opens up, not where it closes down.

Roast Profile

Our dark roast is taken further than most. Past the point where bitterness typically sets in and into the range where the sweetness of the bean re-emerges. That's where Cloud Blend lives.
